The check carried out when a part arrives: that it matches the order, that its documentation is valid and that its physical condition and shelf life are acceptable.
Why it matters
This is the last point at which a wrong or undocumented part can be stopped cheaply. After it reaches the shelf, the error is discovered on an aircraft.
