Conventional names for scheduled maintenance checks of increasing depth. An A-check is light and frequent; a C-check is heavy, takes the aircraft out of service for weeks and covers most of its systems.
Why it matters
The letters are a planning shorthand, not a regulatory unit — what is actually due is the set of programme tasks that fall inside the visit.
