Certificate of Release to Service
The statement signed after maintenance confirming that the work was carried out to the required standard and the aircraft or component is fit to return to service.
Why it matters
It is the point where responsibility transfers. Everything behind it — the task, the parts, the tools, the person — has to be traceable afterwards, sometimes years afterwards.
